But why is it not called a TISAX® certificate?
Definition of term and process
This is explained quite simply: as TISAX ® is a testing and exchange mechanism, successful testing does not result in certification, as is the case with ISO standards, but rather a label. So the term certification is not correct in relation to TISAX® and we therefore speak of assessment, examination or label.

6 steps to the assessment
How does the TISAX® assessment actually work?
- The first step is to determine the requirements of the OEM, i.e. the customer placing the order.
- The second step is to register on the ENX portal. ENX is the registered trademark owner of TISAX®
- In the third step, the assessment is carried out.
- In the fourth step, the interim report is discussed.
- In the fifth step, the identified weaknesses are eliminated.
- In the sixth step, the result is uploaded to the ENX exchange platform and can now be viewed by all registered participants.
This process can take a lot of time and energy. It is therefore a good idea to get good advice and support on board in advance. If you have any questions, we will be happy to talk to you free of charge.
Since 2017, companies that work for automotive groups (so-called OEMs) have been required to have a “Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange” certification to ensure information security when working with partners.
